21st of August 2007.

I spent the afternoon shooting the Weirs of the River Exe. A good shoot, but I could have done with the sun showing itself a bit more. Kyle came along for the walk and enjoyed being my Photographer's Assistant. I am going to return to the same locations on the next available day at sunrise, also I am only going to shot in RAW file format from now on.

I tried out my new Camera Rucksack (Tamrac Expedition 5) today. I loaded it up with all my gear and my Tripod. I found it to be comfortable and easy to use.

I am still undecided as to which Photography Club to join in September?? should it be Crediton, Dawlish or Topsham??

28th of August 2007.

I spent the afternoon walking on Woodbury Common.  The Gorse Flowers were wonderful and bright. I shot in Nikon TIFF Raw File Format, its taken a bit to get use too.

01st of September 2007.

I Spent the late evening shooting Exeter City at Night. The City was full of vibrant colours. I used a F22 slow shutter speed to capture all the available light and colours.

13th of September 2007.

I spent the morning shooting Millers Crossing Bridge in Exeter. The Bridge was opened on the 21 November 2002. Is a Pedestrian/cycle route across the River Exe. It is a beautiful bit of contemporary design. I will be returning to the Bridge to shoot it at night time, as the bridge has good colourful Flood lighting. I have spent a bit of time playing with these photo's in Photoshop CS3. On some of the photo's I have adjusted the Hue/Saturation. I also took a few candid photo's of a man Rod Fishing, just down stream of the Bridge. I must emphasize that I asked for his permission before taking the shoots.

25th of November 2007.

I spent the afternoon on a very windy Dartmoor. Dartmoor National Park Is a large rugged Moor in the middle of Devon. It is world famous for its rugged Beauty and of course its wild Dartmoor Ponies. For Camera enthusiasts you just can not go wrong with Dartmoor. Where ever you point your Camera, there is splendid views all around. I recommend you try for yourself. I will be returning to shoot Dartmoor lots more.

29th of January 2008.

I spent the afternoon walking along Sidmouth's Sea Front and then along the Coastal Path to take some long distance photos of the MSC Napoli. The MSC Napoli has nearly been removed by the salvage company from the Devonshire Coast. Along my walk, I found a few good vantage points for taking good sunrises photos, so I will be returning to Sidmouth in the Summer to get some Sunrise Shots.

07 of February 2008.

Today, I have bought a Zeiss 2x Teleconverter, which fits my Nikon D40 Camera. The Teleconverter seems to work perfectly on my lens Manual setting, but struggles to focus on the Auto Setting. However I feel this is only a slight disadvantage, because with it connected to my 55mm to 200mm lens, the new Zoom range of 110mm to 400mm should be perfect for wildlife photography. I will have to always use my Tripod or a Beanbag to avoid or lessen Camera Shake.

14 of February 2008.

Today I took a stroll with my Camera down the Exeter Canal. It was a beautiful bright and sunny winters day. After walking from my home along the Canal, I stopped for a pint, at the Double Locks Pub. You can see a few of the photos taken on the day, in my galleries.

19 of February 2008.

I have upgraded my Tripod Gear with a new Manfrotto Tripod and head. It should last me a lifetime.

08 of April 2008.

I spent the afternoon walking along the banks of the River Teign. I stopped off at the Fingle Bridge Public House for a pint. Its a wonderful Location for walk's and a pint in the Pub. There is a large Picnic Area just across the Bridge with the benefit of National Trust Toilet Block.

I spent the Afternoon at the HQ of the Devon Wildlife Trust (Cricklepit Mill) for a Photography Workshop. The Workshop was lead by Professional Fine Art/Landscape Photographer Steven White. The Afternoon was spent practicing composition for your shots. The Workshop had all sorts of Photographers, Beginners with Digital Compacts, right up to serious Photographers with the very best Canon Digital SLR Kit.
